PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR - 2nd Shift

The Production Supervisor oversees and assists with the daily manufacturing operations to ensure a smooth and efficient production process at Grandstand Glassware + Apparel ("Grandstand"). This position requires the ability to organize, manage and direct staff in a fast-paced environment. The position will uphold supervision for 2nd Shift. Major Duties ---Provide positive and effective leadership and direction to production staff.
---Accomplish production goals by communicating clear job expectations; plan, monitor, coach, counsel and evaluate performance and results within direct supervision.
---Hire, train, guide and develop staff within direct supervision. Create and hold staff accountable for performance objectives.
---Develop and implement personnel growth opportunities and performance improvement plans as necessary.
---Develop and maintain training programs in collaboration with the Training Coordinator to ensure all personnel have the necessary skills to perform their duties safely and productively.
---Initiate, coordinate and enforce systems; monitor and enforce safety and workplace policies and procedures.
---Proactively communicate and collaborate with Production Manager to ensure Production staff produce product to Grandstand's quality standards; make judgment calls to continue or stop production based on quality of decoration.
---Coordinate daily production activities, delegate assignments and maintain material/workflow throughout production staff.
---Ensure support staff supply workstations with materials quickly and efficiently.
---Maintain a safe and clean work environment by educating and directing staff.
---Ensure equipment and tools are in good working order and available for use when required.
---Manage workflow of orders that have encountered issues upon release to production, ensuring orders in Quality Hold, inventory or art issues are not delayed and are properly updated in the database and communicated to relevant staff.
---Continuously evaluate and modify the plant layout and material workflow for increased throughput and productivity.
---Monitor recycling work load and allocate labor accordingly.
---Monitor and enforce work start, break and stop times.
---Attend and participate in regular production meetings.
---Resolve employee issues through problem resolution.
---Provide feedback to management concerning staffing skillset needs and equipment needs.
---Perform additional duties as assigned by Management.
Qualifications ---High school diploma or GED required. Additional education or technical training a plus.
---Three (3) to five (5) years of experience in a manufacturing leadership position preferred.
---Knowledge of basic computer techniques including Microsoft Office products.
---Experience with multi-tier databases such as Filemaker Pro and ASO400 a plus.
---Efficiently lead a team of employees and achieve high standards of performance.
---Strong analytical or logical reasoning skills required.
---Ability to understand complex written and oral instructions.
---Ability to effectively communicate, present information, and respond to questions in verbal and written format, both internally and externally.
---Work in a fast-paced environment with constant change in priorities.
---Ability to organize, multi-task, plan and set priorities with minimal supervision.
---Ability to work independently and be highly motivated.
---Ability to exercise good judgment with strong attention to detail.
---Ability to exhibit strong interpersonal communication skills; establish and maintain effective working relationship across all levels of Grandstand.
Physical Demands: ---Level 3: Medium Work
---Occasionally exerts 20-50 pounds of force; frequently exerts 10-25 pounds of force; constantly exerts greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force.
---Must be able to safely complete 50-pound PILE test or greater.
---Ability to occasionally lift/lower 15-48 pounds, carry 20-48 pounds, push/pull (force exerted) 48-68 pounds.
---Ability to perform physical activities that require frequent walking and standing, occasional sitting, change of position, reaching (extended hands/arms), reach across mid-line, fingering (pinch/pick), feeling (perceive attributes of objects), crouching/squatting (bend legs/spine), crawling, balancing, stooping (bend at waist), kneeling, stairs, ramp, ladder, arm/hand, leg/foot, simple grasp (grasp lightly), firm grasp (use pressure/force) and fine manipulation.
---Ability to lift/lower/carry cases of glassware, pallets, lifting above shoulder height.
---Ability to perceive small details on product at arm's length distance.
