Job Description:
The health and wellbeing of our staff members and residents is
our number one priority. Our community is strictly following the
CDC guidelines to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 and has
restricted community access in accordance with state and local
health agency direction. Our infectious disease protocols include
but are not limited to:
* Screening staff members at the beginning and part way through
each shift.
* All staff members are wearing face masks at all times while
inside the community.
* Staff members have access to PPE including gloves, face masks,
face shields, and gowns, if ever needed.
* Our community is utilizing telemedicine as much as possible. This
ensures our residents are getting the care they need with as little
risk of exposure as possible.
* As always, we are committed to transparency and will make all
staff, residents, and families aware of any COVID-19 positive cases
at our communities.
Summary
Employee is required to direct, administer and record the care
given to residents in this facility. The Charge Nurse reports to
the Director of Nursing.
Duties and Responsibilities
Communicate with family members regarding the progress of the
resident.May be required to assist visiting physicians in
rounds.May be required to draw blood and obtain fluids to submit
for lab work.Record and monitor all progress of residents and
communicate with physicians according to facility policies.May be
required to assist in dining area and assist in feeding.Monitor
work of other nursing staff in unit to insure thoroughness and
assist with tasks as needed.Required to use telephones to
communicate with physicians, arrange for transportation for doctor
appointments, and contact families.Make rounds to insure
cleanliness and proper care to residents.Coordinates care of
residents in accordance with their care plans.Effectively manages
all nursing staff assigned to unit.May be required to complete
various reports as needed.Monitors personal and staff compliance to
all State and federal requirements including blood borne pathogens,
hazardous materials, infection control, and fire safety.Monitors
personal and staff compliance to resident's rights.Assures that all
medications and treatments are administered as ordered and in a
timely fashion according to facility policies and
schedules.Required to replace nursing staff that call in sick with
additional staff. May be required to help provide nursing services
when sufficient staff cannot be attained.
Requirements
Must have a valid Kansas nursing license that is in good standing
with the State.Must have basic computer skills; must be able to
read, write, speak, and understand the English language.Must be
able to work beyond normal working hours and on weekends and
holidays when necessary.Must be able to assist in the evacuation of
residents during emergency situations.Must be able to perform the
essential position functions of the job with, or without reasonable
accommodation.Employee is required to use a transfer/gait belt or
to obtain the assistance of another employee when attempting to
assist residents when lifting or carrying objects in excess of 25
pounds. The employee must be aware that during the normal, routine
performance of the essential functions, some of the following body
movements may occur naturally, although hey may not be a
requirement of the job.This is a supervisory position. Employee is
required to handle employees in a manner that assists them in their
ability to function effectively. Employee may be asked to perform
other duties not listed above. Such duties will be within the scope
of the employee's training and ability. The employer reserves the
