SJXP.com is seeking a dedicated Local Truck Driver to join our forward-thinking transportation team. As a Local Truck Driver, you will play a critical role in maintaining the punctual and safe delivery of goods while leveraging our state-of-the-art technology systems designed to streamline routing and dispatch operations. Operate commercial transport vehicles safely and efficiently. Ensure timely delivery of freight over short distances, adhering strictly to routes and schedules. Inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance. Plan routes and meet delivery schedules, leveraging our in-house technology solutions. Document and log work/rest periods and kilometers spent driving and retain fuel/toll receipts. Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking, break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures. Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions, collect and verify delivery instructions from dispatch. Report defects, accidents, or violations and ensure secure loading of the cargo. Proven work experience as a truck driver. Hands-on experience with electronic equipment and software (GPS, AVL units, CB, etc.). Ability to drive long hours and travel regularly. Extensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations. Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions, etc.). Trucking school diploma.
