Operating Room team as a Surgical Technologist. The University of
Kansas Health System receives the most complex surgery cases in our
region. Our highly specialized surgeons are experts in uncommon
surgeries, performing approximately 100 procedures every day in
state-of-the-art operating rooms. We deliver the highest standard
in a range of surgical specialties: Orthopedics, Trauma, Plastics
and Reconstructive, Burns, Dental, Ophthalmology, Gynecology,
Urology, General and Bariatrics, Vascular, Pulmonary, Transplants.
Open positions start at 6:30am or 10:30am. 8, 10, and 12 hour
shifts available. Some call included. The Surgical Technologist,
under the direction of the Registered Nurse and the Nurse Manager,
handles the instruments, supplies and equipment necessary during
the surgical procedure. He/she has an understanding of the surgical
procedure being performed and anticipates the needs of the surgeon.
He/she has the necessary knowledge and ability to ensure quality
patient care during the surgical procedure and is maintains
constant vigilance of the sterile field. Responsibilities and

organization and own department(s). - Must be able to perform the
professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the

be assigned as required. Required Education and Experience - High
School Graduate or equivalent. - Certificate or Associate's
Surgical Tech degree OR 3 years of experience as a Surgical
Technologist in lieu of the certificate or degree requirement.
Required Licensure and Certification - Basic Cardiac Life Support
(BLS or BCLS) - American Heart Association (AHA) Time Type: Full
