Uses appropriate activation procedures and informs the physician and/or supervisor of changes in the patient’s condition or abnormalities on the recording. Executes procedures according to ACNS guidelines and department policy. Prepares patients for testing using the International 10-20 system of measurement and hookup. Ensures and maintains patient safety at all times. Performs quality recordings by accurately entering patient and study demographic information, collecting pertinent patient history, properly preparing the patient, conducting the examination, and preparing the recording for physician interpretation. Interacts with patients and family members in a professional, courteous, and compassionate manner following service standards. Accurately documents and charges for procedures to ensure quality standards set by the department and hospital. Actively supports and contributes to department and hospital quality improvement initiatives and proactively initiates process improvement ideas. Communicates and collaborates with the multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality patient care and keeps the supervisor informed, seeking assistance and direction when confronted with unfamiliar procedures and techniques.
