Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. An opportunity is available for a registered nurse with PCU experience to provide skilled nursing care on a stepdown unit. This contract role offers the chance to deliver high-quality care in a fast-paced environment that supports professional growth. Location:This position is based near Kansas City, Missouri, in the Liberty area. The region features a blend of suburban comfort and urban amenities, with accessible parks, dining, and community activities, making it an inviting place to live and work. Responsibilities: Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in a progressive care setting. Monitor and manage patients with high-acuity needs, including administering drips and managing arterial lines. Utilize critical care knowledge such as BiPAP and Airvo respiratory support. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans. Float as needed to other units within the facility, adapting to varying patient needs. Participate in day, night, weekend, and holiday shifts per schedule requirements. Qualifications: Active Registered Nurse (RN) license. Minimum 1 year of experience in a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) or stepdown setting. Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS. High-acuity skills preferred, including arterial line management and respiratory support experience. Ability to float to lower acuity units as required. Commitment to working major holidays with a flexible schedule. Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, typically from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM. Every other weekend coverage. No on-call responsibilities. Orientation during weekdays, 8 AM to 5 PM, scheduled prior to start. Additional Details: Work in a nicotine-free environment. Bi-weekly payroll. Orientation hours are compensated at 8 hours without billing. Candidates must submit credentialing documents one week before starting. New graduates will not be considered for this role.
