Under the direction of the Lawrence Branch Executive Director, the Facility Director will oversee the proper maintenance of the Lawrence Branch and assume the responsibility for planning, organizing, directing, and evaluating the maintenance and custodial operations of the facility and grounds. The Facility Director will also be accountable for budget management for the department. Emphasis will be placed on maintaining equipment and facilities in good condition to assure maximum availability and usage of equipment by members and program participants.Branches: LawrenceStatus: Exempt, Full TimeOur CultureOur mission and core values are brought to life by our culture.   • Keep safety as a first priority. Emphasize personal safety and emotional well-being with staff, volunteers, members and program participants and participate in association safety committee.
  • Plan, budget and schedule all facility maintenance, construction and improvements.
  • Initiate planned maintenance programs for a variety of owned and leased equipment including coordinating annual inspections and servicing of HVAC, boilers, fire alarm and other facility systems for both Lawrence and Methuen branches.
  • Maintenance of the swimming pool will be critical in ensuring membership satisfaction and safety.
  • Communicate facility information, problems and concerns as they occur and participate in facility staff meetings.
  • Responsible for supervision of the Maintenance Department team, from recruitment through hiring and development.
  • Keep aware of Maintenance Department responsibilities as outlined in Branch Emergency procedures.
  • Maintain a neat and orderly work area maximizing efficiency and work output and ensure staff does the same.
  • Manager On Duty (MOD) responsibilities congruent with Branch policies and schedule
  • Serves as a member on the MVYMCA Association Safety Committee
  • Report all accidents/unusual incidents immediately and assists with necessary documentation and quick response in emergency situations.
  • Serves as a primary staff resource in the area of safety and maintenance of program equipment.
  • Responsible for maintaining inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment and operational logs as required. Establish working relationships with all suppliers and vendors
  • Mechanical breakdown will be addressed within 24 hours and repairs commenced within 48 hours.
  • Daily repairs will be addressed within 12 hours and completed within 24 hours as needed.
  • Facility Director is on call 24 hours per day, 7 days per week for emergency service and repair.
  • Manage internal maintenance staff and coordinate and oversee all onsite projects.
  • Support projects and needs Association wide as needed.
  • Performs other duties as required by supervisor and remains flexible.Qualifications
    • Minimum Associate's Degree in Plant Engineering or related field and/or 5 years of relevant experience in a supervisory capacity.
    • Must have experience in trades and basic knowledge of building, carpentry, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, boiler maintenance, HVAC technology, housekeeping and swimming pool systems.
    • Must work hands-on for various projects, as well as in a supervisory role and administrator duties
    • Must have effective verbal and written communication skills
    • Must have good interpersonal qualities to deal with the public, staff and outside agencies.
    • Must be CPR/FA, AED Certified within the first 90 Days of employment.
    • Must be POOL or CPO Certified within the first 90 Days of employment.
    • Must be able to work flexible schedules and be able to take on-call responsibilities in rotation with other members of Maintenance Staff.
