Service Manager oversees the service department's operations,
ensuring high-quality service, customer satisfaction, and
profitability. This role involves managing a team of technicians,
coordinating service activities, maintaining efficient workflow,
and handling customer interactions. The manager is responsible for
ensuring the service department meets its goals and operates
efficiently within budget. Key Responsibilities: Team Management:
Supervise and lead a team of automotive technicians and service
advisors. Conduct hiring, training, and performance evaluations.
Foster a positive work environment and encourage team
collaboration. Customer Service: Ensure high levels of customer
satisfaction through excellent service. Address customer complaints
and provide timely resolutions. Communicate effectively with
customers about service needs and options. Operational Management:
Oversee the scheduling and workflow of the service department.
Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
Implement and maintain service policies and procedures. Financial
Management: Monitor and manage the service department’s budget and
expenses. Develop and implement strategies to increase
profitability. Prepare financial reports and forecasts. Quality
Control: Ensure all services and repairs are performed to the
highest standards. Conduct regular quality checks and inspections.
Maintain records of all service activities and repairs.
Qualifications: Education: High school diploma or equivalent
(required). Associate or Bachelor’s degree in automotive
technology, business administration, or related field (preferred).
Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in automotive
service, including supervisory or management roles. Skills: Strong
leadership and team management abilities. Excellent customer
service and communication skills. Proficiency in automotive repair
and service procedures. Financial acumen with the ability to manage
budgets and analyze financial reports. Problem-solving skills and
attention to detail. Familiarity with service management software
and tools. Working Conditions: Work is typically performed in a
service shop environment. Exposure to noise, fumes, and other
hazards related to automotive repair. Occasional evening and
