The Thermoforming Engineering Manager will be responsible for leading and developing the Thermoforming Engineering team in all areas. The primary responsibility of the Engineering Manager will be to ensure the consistent development of Thermoforming Engineers into effective team members. The Thermoforming Engineering Manager will provide guidance, assistance, and overall leadership to ensure that the Engineering team is successfully developing, planning, and executing capital projects to ensure that the Thermoforming Operations are delivering production results at the highest possible level. The Engineering Manager will also take the lead Engineering role in large or complicated capital projects to ensure a smooth and successful implementation of the project.
Responsibilities

• 
  Responsible for instilling a positive safety culture by ensuring their personal safety and the safety of other team members, including vendors and contractors.
  
  
• 
  Leads & develops Engineering Team in all areas, including providing guidance, direction, and development to Thermoforming Engineers.
  
  
• 
  Collaborates with other manufacturing managers and leadership to set and assess priorities across teams.
  
  
• 
  Assesses cost effectiveness and feasibility of manufacturing processes; makes and implements recommendations to improve safety, efficiency and reduce costs.
  
  
• 
  Provides guidance and oversight in development and execution of plant renovations and expansions; coordinates outside contractors and vendors.
  
  
• 
  Assists other teams (production, printing, maintenance, tooling, etc.) and/or other appropriate leadership with programs, activities, and responsibilities of those teams.
  
  
• 
  Tracks cost savings of implemented projects and efficiency improvements
  
  
• 
  Prepares and implements the capital budget.
  
  
• 
  Performs annual performance evaluations of employees
  
  
• 
  Aid in the testing of processability of new or advanced resins.
  
  
• 
  Respond to customer complaints and implement corrective / preventive action.
  
  
• 
  Maintain and enforce all company safety, environmental and department of health requirements.
  
  
• 
  All other duties as assigned.
  
  
  Qualifications
  
  
• 
  Engineering degree or equivalent experience required.
  
  
• 
  5+ Years of large-scale manufacturing experience required.
  
  
• 
  Working knowledge of thermoforming equipment preferred.
  
  
• 
  Proven ability to lead, motivate and direct employees.
  
  
• 
  Prior experience in analyzing production and financial reports.
  
  
• 
  Strong organizational and communication skills with ability to complete multiple tasks simultaneously.
  
  
• 
  Visual acuity of at least 20/50 for distance (corrected or uncorrected) and a minimal near vision ability to read 10 - 12 point font at a distance of 12 - 18 inches.
